MUUAN Ltd is a future-oriented design agency driven by a passion for design and a great interest in our shared living environment and the continuous change in our way of living.

MUUAN offers services including architectural planning, strategic land use planning, concept design, area and location branding as well as service design for built environment. In many of our projects, soft infrastructure design solutions are emphasized alongside land use and construction planning. Target-Oriented-Design (TOD), a design method created by our office, is used to strengthen the identity of the developed areas as well as to personalize them to stand out among their rival areas.

Our expertise is in concept design for tourism and housing, planning targeted and communal housing architecture, an interactive and participatory design process as well as wood construction and the development of its production for instance with algorithmic design methods and also from the perspective of product management. MUUAN is an owning partner and an active member of Nordic Works, a collective specialized in participatory urban planning. Nordic Works brings together the best of Finnish architect offices and urban planning professionals. With Nordic Works, MUUAN received the Yhdyskuntasuunnittelun Ruusu award in 2014 for developing and executing interactive working methods and the Pietilä award in 2016 for outstanding work in reinventing architecture. In addition, Nordic Works produced Kaupunki Uusiksi tv-series together with Yle, which can be found in Yle Areena.
